Novie for practitioners and parent groups

An app you can recommend between appointments.

Novie supports families with children from birth to five across sleep, nutrition, development and wellbeing, looking at the whole family rather than one piece at a time. Our guidance is written by qualified specialists, follows Australian guidelines and points families back to you when they need you.

Beyond the guidelines

Guidelines are updated every few years. Each week we also review newly published research across sleep, nutrition and development, so the evidence behind Novie's guidance stays current in between.

Referral

Designed to send families back to you.

When something falls outside what's typical, Novie says so plainly and suggests who to see. It won't tell a family to wait out something that needs a professional.

A child outside typical ranges

Growth, feeding, sleep or development patterns that sit outside typical ranges prompt a suggestion to see their GP, child health nurse or paediatrician.

Novie

A parent who is struggling

Signs of distress bring up PANDA on 1300 726 306, their GP and, when it's urgent, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or 000.

Novie
Our approach to sleep

There's no one right way, so Novie won't contradict yours.

Novie covers a range of settling approaches and only suggests one when it fits the family's own goals and values, which could be responsive settling, a gradual approach or another method that suits them. The advice they get at home sits alongside the advice you give.

Privacy and cost

The questions you'd ask before recommending any app

Privacy and security

Privacy comes first. Each family's information is stored securely in Australia, used only to support that family, and never sold or shared with advertisers. Families can delete their account at any time.

Cost to families

Novie is free to download, and most of what families use every day is free, including tracking, a daily sleep schedule and 5 Ask Novie questions a day. Premium is $7.99 a month or $79 a year and adds unlimited Ask Novie, step by step Toolkits and Novie Knows insights. It's billed through Apple and can be cancelled any time.

How the app works

Novie answers from its own knowledge base, written and reviewed by our specialists, and from what the family has logged and shared. It doesn't search the open internet or diagnose. When something needs a professional, it points families to their GP, child and family health nurse or you.
